The goal of this program is to promote the analysis of cancer as a complex biological system by supporting the development of reliably predictive in silico or computational models of cancer initiation and progression that can ultimately lead to the development of improved cancer interventions. It integrates experimental and computational approaches towards the understanding of cancer biology. The initiative encourages the emergence of integrative cancer biology as a distinct field. The program aims to develop and experimentally validate computational models of EGFR-family signaling in breast cancer that will predict individual responses to therapeutic agents that target this pathway. The program is one of six NIH National Cancer Institute (NCI) funded ICBP Centers in the United States. More information about NIH/NCI ICBP available here.

Upcoming meetings and events

ICBP Meetings (Systems Biology Meetings)
Current schedule

NCI Integrative Cancer Biology Program Summer 2009 meeting and related meetings

The Summer Steering Committee meeting of the ICBP will be held June 29-30, 2009 in Palo Alto, CA. This meeting will be the last meeting of this ICBP-funding period and will focus on current research of the nine Centers. As in the past, this is an oppurtunity to have mixed presentations covering Center activities. Since each ICBP Center will be presenting their research, we will not include a theme Symposium or Keynote speakers in the Agenda.
